Bulletproof Pop Culture Portraits

David Palmer Artistically Brings Icons Back to Life

David Palmer

Although one time in history bullets took the life of famous icons like John Lennon and John F. Kennedy Junior, this time the ammunition brought them back to life thanks artist David Palmer. These magnificent portraits were made with darkened bullet shells that recreate the faces of popular pop culture figures.

Using a hand torch as his paintbrush, Palmer drew shadows until he gave life to these men. In addition to being mesmerizing, these pieces also artistically represent the courage and tenacity of these icons and the high price they had to pay to follow their principles. Palmer explains, "The individuals I have chosen are a testimony to the fact that man's loftiest endeavors are often brought about at a cost that is high."

Despite its controversial art material, David Palmer wishes to send a positive message to audiences that shows that creation overpowers destruction.
