That went down like a Yellow Submarine! Ringo Starr jumps in front of Jim Carrey after he shows mock Beatles T-shirt with faces of Dumb And Dumber characters

It seems Jim Carrey has yet to read How To Win Friends And Influence People.
For the funnyman caused Ringo Starr to burst into mock outrage after he showed him a Beatles T-shirt featuring the face of the Dumb And Dumber characters at an event in New York on Monday.
The game for a laugh drummer then jumped in front of the Hollywood star to cover up the offending garment, which had replaced the faces of his bandmates George Harrison and Paul McCartney with the franchise's Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne.

Dumb and Dumber move: Jim Carrey showed Ringo Starr his mocked up Beatles T-shirt in Los Angeles on Monday

Disturbing the peace: And the drummer promptly jumped in front of the Canadian comic

Of course it also draws attention to the fact Dumb And Dumber To is getting released in November this year.
Ringo would have had every right to be annoyed however, as he pulled the stunt at the David Lynch Foundation's Lifetime of Peace & Love Award event honouring the music legend.
The 73-year-old did not seem to mind however, and he and wife Barbara Bach were happy to pose with the Canadian when he buttoned up his jacket.
A healthy dose of rock royalty had turned up for the showpiece event, though unfortunately his fellow surviving Beatle Sir Paul was not in attendance.

No hard feelings: The jolly rock legend was happy to pose again once he covered up the garment

Playing the fool: The madcap star seemed to be channelling his moronic screen character Lloyd Christmas

Star turn: And David Lynch seemed pleased the actor had came to his event honouring Ringo

But rock giant Peter Frampton and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh certainly added a much needed dose of stardust to the proceedings.
Dumb And Dumber To's plot is weaved around what happens when Lloyd's best friend Harry Dunne, played by Jeff Daniels, decides to hit the road to find his illegitimate daughter so he can get a kidney transplant.
Earlier this year it looked like the film would not be made after Warner Bros dropped interest in the project, but Universal Pictures stepped in when comedy filmmakers The Farrelly Brothers shopped it around other studios.
The 1994 original was one of the films that shot Jim to worldwide fame, and made more than $247 million from a $17m budget.
